What AirMouse AI is, how it works, and what you can expect from your first day using it.
AirMouse AI is an AI-native operating layer that turns your smartphone into an intelligent controller for your computer. It replaces your mouse, keyboard shortcuts, and manual workflow steps with voice commands, gestures, and smart automations. Think of it as a co-pilot layer between you and your desktop — connected over Bluetooth, powered by on-device AI.
AirMouse connects via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE 5.x). First-time pairing takes less than 30 seconds — open the desktop app, tap "Pair new device" on your phone, and scan the QR code. After that, your devices reconnect instantly and automatically whenever they're within range. No Wi-Fi or internet is required for the core connection.
No — cursor control is just one of twelve core modules. AirMouse includes a full AI keyboard, natural language voice assistant, gesture engine, smart clipboard, workflow automation builder, screen intelligence, presentation mode, and gaming controller. It's designed to be a complete AI operating layer, not a trackpad replacement.
Most users are fully set up in under 5 minutes. Install the desktop app (60 seconds), install the phone app (30 seconds), pair via QR code (30 seconds), and grant accessibility permissions (2 minutes). There's an onboarding tour that walks you through your first voice command and workflow. Our quickstart guide has a video walkthrough if you prefer visual instruction.
It can — many users report not touching their physical mouse within two weeks. But AirMouse is designed to complement your existing setup, not replace it. You can use voice and gestures for some tasks while keeping your physical mouse for others. AirMouse works alongside any input device without conflict.
AirMouse is built for anyone who uses a computer seriously — software engineers, designers, writers, students, content creators, and enterprise teams. Our power users include developers who want voice-controlled coding environments, streamers who need hands-free OBS control, and executives who need to manage their digital life while staying in flow.

AI questions
How the intelligence layer works, what AI models power it, and how we protect your data.
AirMouse uses a custom-trained Aurora Speech Model (ASM), a 600M parameter transformer optimised for command-and-intent understanding rather than generic speech recognition. It runs entirely on-device using Apple Neural Engine (on Apple Silicon and A-series iOS chips) or Qualcomm NPU on Android, achieving 98.7% accuracy with sub-200ms latency.
Yes — but only on your device. AirMouse uses federated on-device learning to personalise accent recognition, frequently used apps, and workflow patterns over time. This learning never leaves your device and is stored in an encrypted model that cannot be read by us. You can reset personalisation any time from Settings → AI → Reset model.
Screen Intelligence is an opt-in module that grants AirMouse access to your screen content (with explicit permission) so commands like "summarise this email" or "reply to her" can work contextually. All screen analysis runs on-device using a Vision Transformer model. Screenshots are processed in memory and never stored or transmitted. You can enable it per-app in Settings → Privacy.
Yes, on the Pro AI and Enterprise plans. AirMouse supports custom API key injection for OpenAI, Anthropic, Cohere, and Mistral models, so cloud AI composition tasks use your own account and tokens. You can also bring LoRA fine-tuned models for on-device voice recognition if your use case requires specialised vocabulary.
We report 98.7% intent accuracy in quiet conditions across 12 tested accent groups. In noisy environments (above 65dB), accuracy drops to approximately 94%. This is measured as correct intent classification, not word-for-word transcription. We publish quarterly accuracy reports on our transparency page for those who want the full methodology.

Pricing questions
What's free, what's paid, and how our billing works — with no surprises.
Yes, unconditionally. The Starter plan includes AI mouse, keyboard, 50 voice commands per day, 5 workflows, and 30-day clipboard sync at no cost. We've committed in our terms of service that the Starter plan will remain free for the lifetime of the product. We don't believe in bait-and-switch freemiums.
Pro AI ($12/month or $96/year) includes everything in Starter plus unlimited voice commands and AI actions, unlimited workflows, Screen Intelligence, priority cloud sync, custom workflow sharing, API access with up to 10,000 calls/month, advanced gesture maps, and priority support with 2-hour response time. You also get access to beta features before general release.
Yes — cancel any time from your account settings in one click. You'll continue to have Pro access until the end of your billing period. After that you'll be moved to the free Starter plan, and all your data, workflows, and settings are preserved. We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee with no questions asked.
Yes — students and educators get 50% off Pro AI with a valid .edu email address or institutional verification. Non-profit organisations get 40% off. Apply at airmouse.ai/education. University IT departments can also request site licenses for campus-wide deployment at significantly reduced per-seat pricing.
Each Pro AI subscription covers one user on unlimited devices — you can install on your MacBook, Windows PC, and Linux server and control all of them from your iPhone and Android phone. There's no per-device charge. For multiple users, the Team plan ($9/seat/month for 5+ seats) is the most cost-effective option.
Section 4
Security questions
How we protect your data, what we store, and the security architecture behind AirMouse.
By default, no voice data, screen data, or command content ever leaves your device. All AI inference runs locally. If you opt into cloud sync for clipboard or workflows, that data is end-to-end encrypted with AES-256 using a key that only you hold — we cannot decrypt it even if legally compelled. Our architecture is "local-first, cloud-optional."
AirMouse uses BLE with hardware-backed device attestation and ECDH ephemeral key exchange for session encryption. Pairing is done via QR code that encodes a one-time cryptographic challenge — making MitM attacks during pairing impossible. Session keys rotate every 10 minutes. All this happens transparently; users never manage keys manually.
Yes. AirMouse AI is SOC 2 Type II certified (audit completed Q4 2024), ISO 27001 certified, and GDPR-compliant. Enterprise customers can request a copy of our SOC 2 report under NDA. We're also pursuing FedRAMP authorization for government customers, expected in H2 2025.
Screen Intelligence automatically excludes password fields, banking apps, and any app you mark as excluded. These exclusions are enforced at the OS accessibility API level — not just a software filter. Clipboard sync also has a "sensitive content" detector that warns you before syncing credit card numbers, passwords, or API keys to the cloud.
Deleting your account triggers an immediate cascade deletion of all cloud-synced data from our servers within 24 hours, and from backups within 30 days. We'll email you a deletion confirmation. On-device data (workflows, AI models) is removed when you uninstall the app. We publish a Data Deletion Policy at airmouse.ai/privacy.
Section 5
Compatibility questions
Which operating systems, devices, and app versions are supported.
AirMouse supports macOS 12 Monterey and later (including macOS 15 Sequoia and all Apple Silicon chips), Windows 10 21H2 and Windows 11 on both x64 and ARM64, and Linux on Ubuntu 22.04+, Fedora 38+, Arch Linux, and any distro that supports BlueZ 5.66+. Universal packages include deb, rpm, AppImage, Flatpak, and Snap.
iOS 16 and later on iPhone 11 or newer (A13 chip minimum for on-device AI). Android 11 and later on devices with a Bluetooth 5.0+ chip. For full on-device AI, Android devices with a Qualcomm 7-series or 8-series NPU or a Samsung Exynos 2100+ are recommended, though AirMouse gracefully degrades on older hardware.
Yes. AirMouse runs as a software layer and does not conflict with any hardware input devices. You can use a Magic Mouse, Logitech MX Keys, or any other Bluetooth or wired peripheral simultaneously. AirMouse's presence won't affect them in any way; it simply adds additional input channels.
Cursor and keyboard control work with any app, including VMs and RDP sessions, since they operate at the OS HID level. Voice and Screen Intelligence work on the host OS by default; for VM/RDP screen AI, you'd install the AirMouse companion agent inside the VM as well. Full RDP integration is on our roadmap for Q3 2025.
Section 6
Bluetooth questions
Common Bluetooth connection questions and how to resolve them quickly.
Frequent drops are usually caused by one of three things: USB 3.0 interference (move your device away from USB 3.0 hubs/dongles), battery saver mode on your phone (which throttles BLE), or too many paired BLE devices competing for the same channel. Try enabling "BLE-only mode" in Settings → Connection and ensure your phone's battery optimisation is disabled for AirMouse.
BLE 5.x has a theoretical range of 100m in open air. In practice, through walls and furniture, effective range is 15–25 metres for full-speed operation and up to 40m for basic commands. For desk use (1–3m), you'll get sub-6ms latency. We recommend staying within 10m for the best cursor responsiveness and AI model performance.
You can pair AirMouse with unlimited computers simultaneously (BLE supports multiple concurrent connections). Switch between them from the phone app sidebar by tapping the target device. AirMouse will redirect all input to the newly selected machine within 300ms. This is especially useful for multi-computer KVM-style setups.
Yes — AirMouse has an optional Wi-Fi mode for environments where Bluetooth is restricted (some enterprise offices or conference rooms). Wi-Fi mode uses a local encrypted WebSocket on port 52741 — no internet required. Latency is slightly higher (10–20ms vs 4–8ms over BLE) but the feature set is identical. Enable it in Settings → Connection → Use Wi-Fi mode.
Section 7
Download questions
Where to get AirMouse, how to update, and what to do if something goes wrong during installation.
Download the desktop app from airmouse.ai/download for macOS, Windows, and Linux. The phone app is available on the Apple App Store (search "AirMouse AI") and Google Play Store. There's also an APK sideload for Android users who prefer direct installation — available on the download page. Always download from official sources to ensure you have an authentic, unmodified build.
The desktop app updates automatically in the background and applies the update on next launch — you'll see a small "Updated" badge in the app. You can also manually check for updates in Help → Check for Updates. On Linux, updates come via your package manager (apt, dnf) or as a delta AppImage update. The phone app updates through your app store's normal flow.
The macOS desktop app is 92 MB (Universal, including both Apple Silicon and Intel builds). Windows is 68 MB (x64) or 72 MB (ARM64). The Linux AppImage is 86 MB. The iOS app is 145 MB including on-device AI models; Android varies from 110–210 MB depending on your device's NPU and the model tier it downloads.
Yes — AirMouse has an "offline mode" that requires no account. You get core mouse, keyboard, gesture, and voice features locally. Creating a free account unlocks cloud sync, workflow sharing, the desktop dashboard, and usage analytics. Account creation takes 20 seconds with Google or Apple Sign In.
Section 8
Enterprise questions
Deployment, compliance, admin controls, and everything teams of 50+ need to know.
Enterprise adds SSO via SAML 2.0 and OIDC, SCIM user provisioning, centrally managed team workflows and templates, admin-level usage analytics, per-user permission controls, SOC 2 / audit log access, on-premise AI deployment option, 99.99% uptime SLA, dedicated Slack support channel with 1-hour SLAs, and a named Customer Success Manager for accounts over 50 seats.
For cloud deployment with SSO, most teams are fully deployed in 2–4 hours. We provide a deployment playbook, MDM configuration profiles (Jamf, Intune, and Mosyle supported), and a dedicated implementation engineer for accounts over 100 seats. On-premise AI deployments take 1–3 days and include a guided setup with our solutions engineering team.
Yes. Enterprise customers can use Apple Business Manager (ABM) and Google Zero-Touch Enrollment for fully managed device deployment. The AirMouse desktop app is available as an MSI installer for Intune/SCCM silent deployment on Windows, and a Jamf-ready PKG for macOS. Enterprise app catalogue links are available so employees install from your IT portal, not the public store.
Yes — we offer a 30-day pilot for up to 25 seats at no cost for qualified enterprise prospects (1,000+ employee organisations). The pilot includes full Enterprise feature access, onboarding sessions, and a mid-pilot check-in. At the end, we help you build an internal business case with the productivity data gathered during the pilot.
Section 9
Developer questions
APIs, SDKs, integration building, and everything you need to extend AirMouse programmatically.
Yes. The AirMouse API is a RESTful and WebSocket API that gives access to voice triggers, gesture events, clipboard, workflow engine, screen context, and device metadata. Documentation is at developers.airmouse.ai. Pro users get 10,000 API calls/month; Enterprise is unlimited. SDKs are available for TypeScript, Python, Go, and Swift.
Yes — anyone can build and submit integrations to the AirMouse Marketplace using our developer portal. Approved integrations are shown to all 500,000 users. We offer a 30% revenue share on paid integrations. The review process takes 3–5 business days and requires passing our automated security scanner and a manual UX review.
Yes. AirMouse exposes a localhost REST API on port 52742 that requires no internet and no authentication token — it's only accessible from processes on the same machine. This makes it ideal for local scripts, Alfred/Raycast extensions, and Hammerspoon automations. Documentation for the local API is included in the developer docs.
The cloud API is rate limited to 60 requests/minute and 10,000/month on Pro. Enterprise plans have custom limits based on contract size. The local API has no rate limit. WebSocket connections have no message rate limit once established (subject to fair-use policy). Rate limit headers are included in every API response following the standard RFC 7231 format.
Section 10
